Takane no Hana
Oct. 5th, 2018 04:31 pmMomo Tsukishima (Satomi Ishihara) is a daughter from a prestigious family involved with ikebana (art of flower arrangement). She has a perfect life with a beautiful appearance, excellent career in flower arrangement and her prominent family. She also has a fiancé that she loves deeply, but she discovers that her fiancé has been unfaithful to her. Momo Tsukishima decides to end their engagement and she begins to lose confidence. Naohito Kazama (Kazunobu Mineta) appears in front of her. Naohito Kazama is an ordinary bicycle shop owner. Their backgrounds are completely different, but they fall in love. (asiawiki-2018)
Not the kind of drama I like to watch. But all the scenes what involved flowers and ikebana were so beautiful I just had to keep going. A part of Japanese culture I like so much, plus their kimonos and the meaning of the iemoto and all that is traditional. That was beautiful and also very old-fashioned. To think that it is something that persists since years and years ago...
As for the story, it was MEH. Drama, drama and more drama! Cheating (fiancee cheating and having his lover pregnant, boyfriend cheating with the mother of his girlfriend, mother cheating on her husband...), tears and more tears (I think this may be the drama where I found Ishihara Satomi very annoying.. she kept crying! In every episode. Or she was acting like a lunatic, or she was crying. Her sister, cries and falls in love with a disgusting guy. And she forgives him at the end! WTH
Also, I think they put too much emphasis on Ishihara Satomi's beauty, which I didn't like at all. She had no chemistry with Pooh-san, who frankly was very plain. I don't mind plain heroes (I usually like them) but this guy was not only plain but has a very dumb face :S She had more chemistry with Chiba Yudai, who unfortunately had the worst hairdo in history; made him look ugly instead. A 90s-Nick-Carter hairdo, wth.
Not recommended, to be honest, except for the ikebana thing. But as for human and love story, it was MEH.
