Aoki has a crush on Hashimoto, the girl in the seat next to him in class. But he despairs when he borrows her eraser and sees she's written the name of another boy—Ida—on it. To make matters more confusing, Ida sees Aoki holding that very eraser and thinks Aoki has a crush on him! (MDL-2021)

Another cute Jdrama where there are no villains and you can't help but root for everyone. And if there is one annoying character, it will have a character development very soon (another plus of Jdrama). I've read the manga before watching the first episode, and I have to say, it was very loyal to the original source. So anyone who reads the manga and then watches the drama would not be disappointed.

My favorite character was Hashimoto-san; not only is the actress super cute but the character is so supportive and such a good friend as well. A pure heart but still she isn't forgivable even when it comes to her crush, silly Aida XD

As for the main character, they were ok. I didn't love them in the manga so I had little chance to love them in the drama. Yes they are cute and I can see why people adore them, but I guess they were just too childish for me? A "hatsukoi" that is nice to look at but to root for them? I am not even invested when it is a book :( At least they were adorable on their own, who wouldn't want a boyfriend like Ida or a friend like Aoki? I do think Meme should improve a little more in his acting but maybe it was just his character that had to be so aloof.

The comedy was super good and I found myself giggling in almost every episode.

Akaza Yukiko attends a high school for blind. She has amblyopia, which causes her to recognize colors only vaguely and she can recognize large letters with a magnifying glass. When she walks outdoors, she always carries a white cane. Nevertheless, she has a bright personality. One day, Yukiko happens to meet delinquent boy Kurokawa Morio. At first, Yukiko doesn’t like him, but she somehow gains an understanding of him. They become attracted to each other. (AsianWiki-2021)

This was so cute and one of my favorite Jdrama of this year. So much, I am currenty rewatching it.

Not only cute, but informative as well. I love watching romances with MC with a disability, because I always learn something new. And it is nice to see how people around this MC, like the love interest and new friends, learn as well. Yukiko is so brave, with a bright personality and always trying her best. Being played by Sugisaki Hana no doubt helped to love her. The episode where she was new at her part-time job.... so strong! If I were her I would have given up and cried till sleep. But being Yukiko-san, she was motivated and made people around her be more emphatic. The two times I watched this episode (ep04) I got all teary-eyed, it was truly an inspiring episode.

Sugino Yosuke was a sweetheart as Morio, truly a wholesome character. I love how he reacted when a friend (better said, TWO friends) confessed their feelings for him. Or how he looked up for Yukiko or how inspired he was by her.

Every one in this drama was a nice person and when there was a not-so-nice one, there was always a nice character development that didn't take much to happen, such as the sister's or Hachiko's. I wish it could have been like this til the end, but unfortunately, ep8 and ep9 were kinda MEH because of Hiyama and it ruined the pace a little bit. The ending of ep09 was specially eye-rolling because it was so cliche (in the bad sense) but luckily the final episode was good and maintained the lighthearted tone of the show, with sprinkles of sweetness.

I also love to see (and listen to) the manager of the BBurguer, played by Furukawa Yuuta XD what a great boss! He was right when he hired Yukiko to give a fresh air in their work environment... Yukiko's determination taught the other co-workers and made them changed their mind about prejudices.

Regarding the other couples... I don't understand the development between Shicho and Izumi, are they going to stay close friends forever? As in, Izumi knows he is never going to love her like a woman but they will have a close relationship like a couple would except with no benefits. So Izumi is forever stuck with a guy who is gay but as long as she loves him, they will be together? I didn't understand that part :S As for Hachiko and the friend.... cute couple but getting married??? oh well.

Overall, cute, uplifiting with no big dramas. Anyone who watch this will have zero concerns.

It's Shouko Komi's first day at the prestigious Itan Private High School, and she has already risen to the status of the school's Madonna. There's just one problem though—despite her popularity, Shouko is terrible at communicating with others.

With his life motto of "read the situation and make sure to stay away from trouble," he quickly finds that sitting next to Shouko has made him the enemy of everyone in his class! But before she can escape, Hitohito surmises that Shouko is not able to talk to others easily—in fact, she has never been able to make a single friend. Hitohito resolves to help Shouko with her goal of making one hundred friends so that she can overcome her communication disorder. (Source: MyAnimeList - 2021)

I think this is one of the wacky but well-done live action. As in, you can tell it is based on a manga, the colorful characters, the random moments (like Tadano-kun screaming in his mind); the unrealistic moments (would a teenage girl really talk to others thru her notebook, when she isn't mute??), but it has a lot of heart and funny scenes.

The characters are all likeable, except maybe for Mizobata Junpei's one... I think he was the only one not memorable but thankfully he is in like 3 episodes only. I really liked the arc of the germophobic girl and her friend, it was very sweet and heartfelt and made me teary-eyed at the end. Too bad they were in 2 (or was it just one?) episodes only.

I also liked that the actors are all in their middle 20's and even in their 30's playing the role of students, no idea why. They didn't look ridiculous at all, isn't that weird? It made it even funnier. Seeing Massu and Shirota Yu, both of 35-years-old, being students..🤣

The only 2 cons I can name are: 1) the beginning of their friendship was very awkward. I don't like the whole "can you be my friend?" type of beginning. It has to be like out of nowhere, so how Manbagi started being Komi's friends was very awkward and rather pathetic. And 2) the love triangle in the last 2 episodes. Totally unnecessary but well, many girls in shoujo manga fall for the 1st guy that is nice to her, so I kinda get it. Ridiculous, but cliche.

When Ai Sato (Fuka Koshiba) was little, she was pretty. She is now 28-years-old and her appearance has changed for the worse. Her life has also become gloomy. Making things worse for her, she gets fired from her part-time job on her 28th birthday. One day, she receives an email from her first love Sosuke Hasebe (Kento Nakajima). Sosuke Hasebe moved to the United States 17 years ago. In his email, he informs Ai Sato that he is moving back to Japan and he wants to meet her. (asianwiki-2021)

She_Was_Pretty_Japanese_Drama-p1

Generally speaking, I don't like to watch remakes but this one was starring the charming Koshiba Fuka so I just had to. It was a nice drama that kept me entertained and besides a few moments of eyerolling, was much better than expected. In fact, I liked it very much and I would recommend it.

The star was of course Koshiba Fuka, she does the goofy, awkward girl perfectly. Except maybe that when she was "plain" she was still pretty, her smile is very infectious. The love triangle between her, Sosuke and Higashi made sense because, how couldn't one fall for this girl?? It should have been a love square or more actually :D And not really a love triangle since Higashi never stood a chance... was friend-zoned from the beginning. In spite of me liking Akaso Eiji a lot, I never had SLS because he wasn't the guy she loved.

Nakajima Kento was more or less at first, a bit stiff, but he gets better in latter episodes. He doesn't come off as unlikable but the first 2 episodes it was hard to root for him and Ai. There is something in Koshiba Fuka that makes you dislike anyone who is rude to her character :) A big plus to Kenty is that I loved his voice, it was calm and I don't know, soothing. Only that I can't take him seriously as a romantic lead, sorry Kenty! But he gets better.

There were a few cliches that made me roll my eyes, such as Sosuke fainting in the street, or just the whole Risa hiding stuff from Ai and then acting like the victim... that kind of plot makes me nervous. And Sosuke living from the past... like dude, that happened 15 years ago!

There are a lot of skinship that made me have a bit of 2nd hand embarrassment because I am not used to it in JDramas XD This drama is a much, MUCH, better version of the awful Oh My Boss.

Rikokatsu-001

I was so happy at the beginning of this Season since we had 2 Rom-Com starring my favorite actors Eita on one side and Ayano Go on the other side. Alas, both dramas were MEH. This one started good... not great but it had potential. I like when a couple is being more honest due to some circumstances, in this case, once they decided to get a divorce, they were more honest and show their true side to the other.

But I think both leads saw marriage as something frivolous, not serious. One fight, one disagreement, and "let's divorce". They didn't even try to save it. I thought the impeding divorce would be a motive to make them know each other better, but once they finally got divorced (ep07?) it was the downhill. I didn't have any interest on a couple who was so wishy-washy about something as serious as a marriage.

Saki's ex was a good guy and I wish she had chosen him, they were a better match. I don't understand the whole Saki-Kouchi after the divorce...

Kouchi's co-worker who was in love with him... what a meddlesome girl. I hate when other interfere in a marriage, who the hell was she?

Saki's boss, the writer. Wasn't that sexual harassment?? I didn't like him at all and his stupid hair. His "falling in love" was ridiculous.

Saki's parents and Kouchi's parents... I didn't have any interest in them but I am glad the mothers decided to stay divorced. Their husbands were idiots who only appreciate them once they lost them... at least, the mothers in this case DID try to make things work, even when their husbands didn't deserve it all. But it made things more realistic since this is what Showa parents did.

Eita did portray good and some times I was watching his face and missing him so much as a comedy actor. I didn't like how he deepen his voice, it was ridiculous, but it is Eita and I love him. How much I want a good, funny role for him! What a disappointment.

Nami Suzuki was born and raised in a small rural town. She doesn't have a specific dream to pursue and she is an easy going person. As an ordinary woman, she desires to be happy with an ordinary life. She follows Kenya, who is her childhood friend and her unrequited love, and applies for a job in the supply management department of a large publishing company in Tokyo. Nami gets hired by the company, but she is assigned to work in the editorial department of a fashion magazine. (MDL-2021)

Initially I wasn't going to watch this, but because the cast was invited to Tokyo Park Friends show and they all seemed lovely, and I was curious about Mone as a lead of a romcom, I watched the 1st ep and was immediately hooked. It has that TBS filter I like so much: vibrant, happy colors and nice shots of Tokyo, with colorful clothes.

The characters were also good; seemed like it was going to be some sort of Devil Wears Prada plot but it wasn't really because, the Chief Editor is known as an Akuma (Demon) she is just ruthless but not mean. She doesn't look down to others (seems like she does, but she doesn't), is a good senior to Nami-chan in spite of Nami being too "average", and she really loves fashion and magazines.

So for the first 4 or 5 episodes it was a nice drama, funny, sometimes cheesy but of the good kind (who cares if the MLM is waiting for her under the rain, as long as he is nice and cares for her?) and I liked the fashion aspect more than anything.

But that was the first half only. The 2nd half went downhill so quickly, with many cliches I hate watching in "romance" drama, such as SLM (out of nowhere he falls for her? zero chemistry btw them, but oh no, the tsundere guy falls for her and then goes with "I will never let you cry" and stupid stuff like that), overhearing behind doors/walls, the white knight and the black knight doing their most to "save the damsel in distress" and boring stuff like that.

And don't let me start with the whole ending... Jun goes to Cambodia to achieve his dream to become a photographer, before that they get engaged but he doesn't even talk to her for THREE YEARS?? What in the world.... what a lousy script. What a waste of Mamiya Shotaro and Kubota Sayu, they make such a lovely couple but nothing, even the spin-off is a complete waste. The romance, which takes 70% of the story, was so bad my gawd it ruined everything.

**My rating: 3.5**

SPIN-OFF: "Oh! My Tsundere! Koi wa Bessatsu de"
4B1Pk_4f

In the first 2 episodes I was thinking this was better than the main story just because I like the serious girl + tsundere boy type of story better than 2 softies. And the chemistry between Shotaro and Sayu <3 what a pretty couple! Then the whole Nagazawa falling for the other girl happened, he never looks at Sayu with any romantic interest for all 7 episodes except for the last couple of minutes where he is, oh right, I do love you **eyerolling**

Waste of two beautiful and talented actors.

A cute and quirky show; it is a bit hard to describe it since describing it will sound very random; however, it was well executed and very loyal to the manga. When I first saw the poster, it seemed fun so I checked the manga. I think in this case it is better to read the manga before the show to maybe understand things a little better? For example, Hayashi will seemed too robotic just watching him in the drama, but he is just a weird boy XD The actor was ok, but I think he was the least "good" one in the whole drama. He isn't exactly a newbie (being a Johnny) but I can't say if it was him or just because Hayashi is more difficult to portray since he doesn't show much in his expressions.

Needless to say, I loved Nikaido and Medaka's story. Bando Ryota as Medaka was so good! A natural and very charming. Takahashi Fumiya as Nikaido was good too, he talks like he used to wear braces, isn't that cute? And he looks like a Nikaido too, I love how the lighting changed according to his personalities (dark or the "real" Nikaido).

Besides them two, I liked the 2 girls so much as well, Fukumoto Riko as Matsuya is a sweetheart and Kawai Yuumi as Arakawa is very charming, no overacting at all and super cute both of them. I loved the bromance and the sismance and the friendship overall in this drama. I hope all these 4 have a bright future because I fell for them 4, not only their acting and looks but I loved their stories. It was my first time watching them (except for Fukumoto Riko).

If I have to say a complain it will be that it is too short! 5 episodes of 24 minutes each... movies are longer than this! The characters were well developed, but the ending seemed incomplete and open to interpretations. Which is of course something normal in Jdrama/Jmovies, but there wasn't any closure. Barely an opening :( Unless there is a movie in the future??

MV5BNzJmYmFlMmUtNmIyZi00NThiLWFjYTUtNzIyZjE0ZmQxZjJlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjU0ODQ5NTA@._V1_

Visually speaking, this movie was better than the previous one, but as for twists, there weren't too many. Less twists and less surprises. However, it was very fun to watch Dako and her "daughter" (wtf, Dako with a 18 (?) year old daughter? Get the hell out of here!) Dako seemed to like "Michelle" and care for her and tbh I was expecting a twist regarding that, but she truly cared for her so there wasn't any twist :(

There are many small roles (RIP Miura Haruma, RIP Takeuchi Yuko, Takito Kenichi, Maeda Atsuko), some cameos (Gackt, Namase Katsuhisa) and good secondary characters (Furukawa Yuta, Eguchi Yosuke). Most of them talk tons of English, I was impressed! Some of them with very cute accents :D

Easy to watch, even for people who didn't watch the previous SP/Drama/Movie. I just wish I didn't had to watch the ugly face of Higashide, how can an ugly man ruin everything! He is disgusting and I wish to see only the marvelous Kohinata Fumiyo and Nagasawa Masami, who were great as always.

The_Way_of_the_Househusband-tp01

I've read 3 volumes of the manga I think so far, and I love it. It is a comedy that anyone will like, silly but not over the top. I think the drama would have been much better if it was just half hour long since it is mostly a gag comedy, and it doesn't need much time or it can get tiresome.

While I liked the drama, I didn't love all the episodes. It is an episodic drama, and some were a bit boring tbh, while others were hilarious. My favorites characters were by far Tatsu (Tamaki Hiroshi looked like he was having a lot of fun, and he is great in this kind of comedy without being over the top), Masa (Shison Jun was the best sidekick... wasn't annoying at all, wasn't loud, perfect comedic times, and had a good chemistry with Tamaki) and of course Torajiro (Takito Kenichi will never be bad for me). They were also the most closely like to their manga parts.

Although I like Kawaguchi Haruna, I think she was miscasted. She is just 25 years old, and her daughter is 10??? No way in hell she looks older. And Tamaki is 15 years older than her :/ She was a good Miku, but I didn't like she was a MOTHER of a 10yo :S

The 2 characters I think were totally unnecessary were Boss and Lady Boss. They were too loud, and didn't contribute anything to the story. And they were totally different from the manga, like 2 new characters. I thought at first the police, played by Furukawa Yuta, was unnecessary as well, but he has his own episode where I did like him. The girl at the cafe and the noisy neighbors were funny sometimes, even though the cafe girl is not in the manga. Himawari was OK, her role was more like the tsukkomi to Tatsu/Miku's boke.

I also didn't like the camera work and the yellowish filter... I wish it was a brighter filter since it is a live action.

Can't wait for the anime version!

The story centers on Kano Nakamura, a 26-year-old office worker seen as highly desirable in her workplace, but is in truth a tokusatsu (special effects shows) geek. She lives in fear of being found out: sneaking around town to get capsule toys for her favorite shows, singing tokusatsu songs alone in karaoke, and living her life with her heroes' credo in her heart. (Anime New Network-2019)

Tokusatsu_Gagaga-p1

Adorable, plot and heroine. I don't know how I didn't know about Koshiba Fuka before Youkai Sharehouse.. she is so pretty, a bit awkward and just so cute. Her smile is **chef kiss**. This role was perfect for her; in fact, it is like an upgrade from the manga version. Manga version Nakamura wasn't so shy and geeky like dorama version I think.

EkKJ5bRXkAcpjtP

The main character is a closet geek for Tokusatsu. I may not be one, but I did watch one series that I adore completely and while watching this dorama, made me want to revisit it (I'll watch the SP afterwards). Besides TokuOta (Tokusatsu Otaku), there are also Idols geeks, and shoujo anime geeks (a big guy who looks like yakuza).

This Jdrama shows us how happy we are when we have something we cherish, but that we are happier when we have someone to share our hobby with. I love how this group of people who are completely different from each other, form a bond over their hobbies. Even a little boy in middle school becomes more or less Nakamura's friend, and it is all because of their share love for Tokusatsu. The little boy is played by the adorable Terada Kokoro <3

The negative thing about being an otaku is that it is not socially accepted, so we must be "closeted". Sadly, it begins at home... Nakamura's mother has pressured her since she was a little girl to not like "boy's stuffs" and to like only "girly stuff", because would she want to be seen as "weird"? It is very sad to see that this is a common thinking from parents... they may not be cruel on purpose and may want what is best for their children, but they are not seeing it as something hurtful for their children. What is so wrong to like boyish toys when you are a girl? Or vice-versa? This dorama shows the gender stereotype we suffer in society.

EkUqRnyWsAAhsJV

As long as we are not hurting anyone, why wouldn't we be a geek? I think deep down we are all closeted geeks, only that some are able to repress it (like the mother) while others just can't or don't want to. It is nice to have a group of friends with the same likes, and in spite of people not liking this message, I also think it is ok to hide this "identity" from others if you want to. It is not that they are embarrassed about it, but to be "accepted" it is not necessary to show everyone that you love XX. As long as you come back home and "detox" with your hobby and makes you happy, that is basically what an "oshi" portrays, right?

Middle-Aged_Man_Loves_Cute_Things-P1

I am very happy to see Imai Tsubasa doing well! He looks amazing, and I am happy that this drama did it so well.

It is a very lovely and funny drama; my 2nd favorite of this season. The trailer may look a bit silly but fun: a middle-aged man loving kawaii things secretly. A tsundere loving cats secretly. A boy loving shoujo manga secretly.

While it is cute and funny to see grown-up men loving characters so much, it is also showing us our secret desires that we feel we must hide because of our age. Other people may look at an adult otaku like he/she is a freak, only for the fact that he/she likes anime and manga. I have the same issue, not because I like to have a keychain of Sebastian Michaelis it means I am weird! But people like to judge, and because we do not want to be ridicule or whatever, it is easier to hide it. But it also can make us a bit miserable, having to pretend we are someone else. Ahhh if we can only show proudly what we like without having other people judging you!

Eh7HZIwWkAEzNRT

This is what the drama is about, and also, while hiding who you are, you will feel lonely eventually. Oji-san (haha, ojisan) is very reserved because of that.. we may listen to his thoughts when he is happy but since he doesn't show much, sensitive people like Kenta may feel like their feelings are not conveyed. Oji-san is super happy to have a new friend that understands him and share the same feelings as him, but if he doesn't say it out loud, Kenta wouldn't know. It takes him some time to properly say his feelings XD

EiAQ8jiWkAEuMBJ

Their friendship is so cute (remember, it is a FIRST for them) so it may look like a BL: the overthinking, over-analyzing, both of them thinking about each other, being happy just being together; the little gifts, some awkward encounters and the final "I like you" XD But it is really just about a treasured friendship between two older guys who, finally, are not afraid to show their "feminine" side XD

RQNoo_3f

There are many merchandising about Pug Taro / Pagtaro thoughout the drama... it is so cute I also want a plushie! Both Oji-san and Kenta visit a big store, full of kawaii things, called Hakuhinkan. I've read it has like 5 floors of toys and plushies, and I want to go there sometime! I visited Kiddyland, which was cute of course, but it can also be a bit overwhelming.

EiAQclMWkAA_wF5

Mashima Hidekazu was so good as Oji-san... look at this meme! His stern looks + his cute thoughts... the contrast was very funny, so he was a perfect fit. He has played a couple of gay characters so far (in Ossan's Love and Tonari no Kazoku wa Aoku Mieru) so the audience can't help it if they want a romance btw him and Kenta XD Nevertheless, it was a fun drama, I just wish it was longer... 5 episodes is so short!

My_Housekeeper_Nagisa-san-P1

My favorite drama of the year, hands down. It was perfect since it has a bit of everything: made me smile the whole time I was watching it, made me go "awwwww" and "ahhhh" many times, made me cry once; made me root for the characters, love the setting (Yokohama); love the cast and all the warm feelings it made me feel. Not since Hajikoi I was this excited with a drama, searching for other comments (almost none) from other fans.

Coincidentally, Tabe Mikako was my choice for Harumi when I was watching Hajikoi. So I am happy she got a role in a drama as charming and successful as Hajikoi was in 2019.

And just like in Hajikoi, there are a couple of possible love interest that make people root for A or B. And just like in Hajikoi, the heroine has only interest in one although there is a "better" option for her in the form of a successful, young and good looking rival. So while many people may be pissed because she doesn't pick the most "obvious" guy, I am beyond happy with the result.

EeA7TMaX0AIyg-m

In that sense it is like Nigehaji... sometimes the heroine does pick the less obvious option (2nd male love interest)... not always the hero is a handsome, confident guy. Nagisa-san is as respectful and adorable as Hiramasa was. And what is best, Mei feels herself and confides in him, isn't that most wonderful than a romance based on a crush? A more mature romance. And just like Hoshino Gen, Omori Nao may not be a conventional handsome guy, but he is charming and precisely because of that is that the audience can fall and root for him. Not all heroes need to look like models.

Mei has the most interesting wardrobe in the entire drama; some were a choice (many layers!) and some were nice. But the most I liked about her were her accessories: headband, earrings, rings, etc. Adorable! Better fashion sense than Harumi.

The final episode was so cute! I love that we can hear her thoughts... how Nagisa was like a God to her. I don't know why would people root for Tadokoro (except because he was younger and more handsome) since she never saw him any other way than as a rival. For the whole drama she had zero romantic interest nor any interest in him at all.

Also, everything that was about Yui and her relationship with her mom... made me cry in Ep05! This drama was very wholesome, with the family aspect and professional aspect. Not only the MR field, but also to not take housekeeping for granted. It is not a shameful job, which Mei and her mother come to realize after knowing Nagisa-san.

Ahhh I want to read the manga too... I am currently reading Hajikoi (more than 1 year later). It wasn't easy to find a translation... I wonder if I have to wait a year to read "Kaseifu Nagisa-san" manga??

Mini-Reunion: Nagisa-san and Hashio-san from Kounodori; Mei's ex-boss was also in Kounodori.

EDIT: I looved the SP! It may have around 20minutes of new scenes only, but they are about their married lives, mostly about their first argument <3 Besides, I loved to recap the whole drama; once again I wondered why would people root for Tadokoro?? She never had any interest in him besides the professional one; she was never at ease with him and never had any curiosity to find more about him. And that scene where he cleans her mouth... so cringe and overstepping her boundaries! And anyway, everyone could sense at first glance that something was going on btw Mei and Nagisa-san (the matching clothes in ep02 was a big hint).

Shinsuke Kuwano (Hiroshi Abe) is in his 50's and he is still single. He works as an architect, has a good appearance and earns a nice income. Yet, he is cynical and has strong pride. He has a comfortable single life. One day, he visits Lawyer Madoka Yoshiyama’s (Yo Yoshida) office for consultation. (asaiwiki-2019)

He_Who_Cant_Marry_Season_2-p1

I honestly had not many expectations, because I loved Season 1 and I thought there was no need for a sequel, at all. When I knew it was going to be subbed, by a trusty subber nonetheless, I decided to watch it but still, with not many expectations.

Once it started, I was already loving it. It was so much like Season 1... the OST, Kuwano and his mannerisms, the office, Eiji, the dog... how not to love it? The whistling OST is honestly the most fitting and fun thing I've heard in Doramaland. Again with Kuwano being sarcastic and having unique point of view, again with a trio of women who looked at him closely and find him weird, but eventually, realize he is one of a kind, besides being a nice guy.

True, the doctor is not there anymore, which sucked when I heard about it. But now that I've watched S2 I realize there can be several seasons with different women and I wouldn't mind. It is, after all, "the man who can't marry". He can have as many women in his life, with amazing chemistry, but at the end of the day, according to his words in the earlier episodes, "being alone is the best".

Not to say there isn't a romance and a HFN ending, because of course there is. There was a nice chemistry with this woman, who rivaled the doctor at many points. They had many fun conversations that almost always ended in a fight, all because Kuwano couldn't hold his tongue and had to say something spiteful, without being spiteful.. it is just the way he is and that is what makes the drama so fun to watch.

Of course Kuwano wouldn't be the same if Abe Hiroshi have not played him. This guy was made for comedy (truthfully he is amazing in everything he does) and my, how I miss him in comedies! It was nice to see him again with that outfit and his slight slouching and him talking to Tetsuo/Ken :D

It was nice to see Eiji (Tsukamoto Takashi) too, the growth and how close they are after so many years together, even if things have not changed much. I actually loved the whole cast, and I am happy and very satisfied that Yoshida Yo was the co-star, because she has a very strong presence and to act next to Abe Hiroshi is no joke. I only wished her clothes in the series were better... most of them were veeery weird.

Very recommended, I think S1 and S2 are like, best examples of J-drama instead of other silly shows that are always recommended to people who have not watched J-drama. I honestly wouldn't mind having a S3 in the next 10 years with different women, as long as Kuwano and the dog are there (and ok, Eiji, his brother-in-law and the foreman would be nice as well!)

Taking one start because I think this deserved at least one more episode, it feels like it didn't have a proper closure. Maybe saving it for S3??

Ran Riu (Yuko Takeuchi) is member of the triad in Hong Kong. She is cold-blooded and appropriately called "Ice Princess." Ran Riu possesses the best diamond in the world. Dako (Masami Nagasawa), Boku-chan (Masahiro Higashide) and Richard (Fumiyo Kohinata) attempt to steal the diamond from Ran Riu. Meanwhile, handsome conman Jessie (Haruma Miura) also tries to get the diamond. (asiawiki-2019)

This was so funny, I was laughing from the beginning, I loved how Dako teases Boku-chan and treats him like her little brother.

I watched the SP before this one, which is incorrect since the movie comes first, and then the SP. The only spoiler I had was about the character of Monaco though, so it was ok. The whole gang is back, and there are even cameos (and not really cameos.. more like a small role) from previous characters from the TV show. I think it is ok to watch the movie without watching the drama, but I wouldn't recommend it (please watch the drama first! You won't be disappointed).

I can't even tell a single thing about the plot nor what I liked about it since it would all be a spoiler. But it was all so fun and cool! Dako is the best. And Boku-chan is always making me laugh, he is so silly :)

As a side note, I love Eguchi Yosuke as a villain, he is great! Will he be back in the 2nd movie? **fingers crossed**

Shiro Kakei (Hidetoshi Nishijima) is an attorney and he works for a small law firm. He lives with his lover Kenji Yabuki (Seiyo Uchino) who is a hairdresser. The two men are gay.

Shiro Kakei's regular routine is that after work he buys groceries at a mart which has discounted prices. He has a monthly budget of 25,000 yen ($225) for food that he does not go over. Afterwards, he goes home and makes dinner which usually includes rice, soup and three side dishes. When dinner is about ready, Kenji Yabuki comes home from work. While they eat, the two men talk about pretty much everything. Their time during dinner is a precious time for them.

One day, when Shiro Kakei and Kenji Yabuki are out in public, Kenji Yabuki's customer comes up to them and asks "Is he your boyfriend who is a lawyer?" Shiro Kakei is embarrassed. He did not tell people at his law firm that he is gay, unlike Kenji Yabuki who is open about his sexual orientation. Shiro Kakei feels uncomfortable. (asiawiki-2019)

Kinou_Nani_Tabeta-01

I liked this more than I thought I would, and that's a lot since I had very high expectations for this drama before it started. It is a very simple and heartwarming drama that is far more enjoyable in live action than in manga (for me at least). I do enjoy gourmet manga, but I think watching the food ao vivo is much better than watching it on paper.

As for the story, it doesn't have much drama except for Shiro-san being a closeted gay guy in his work place, while Kenji is very open about who he is. At first I liked Kenji much more than Shiro; he is carefree and loves Shiro so much, while Shiro is more uptight and doesn't show much his feelings. I though that was particulary because Nishijima Hidetoshi is more of a "tough actor" who is more used to look cool and cold, but there is a big character development with him and at the end, I loved him almost as much as I loved Kenji.

There were scenes that were comforting, as well as funny scenes and poignant scenes. I think my favorites were the last 4 or so, where it shows the character development, and I enjoyed all scenes between Kenji-Shiro and Kohinata-Gilbert.

For me this is far, far better than Ossan's Love, and more realistic as well. Besides, the addition of the cooking and recipes were very useful.. I am now dying to try the "mentsuyu". While it is based on a gourmet manga, the cooking takes around 2 minutes and the joy on eating around 3, and the rest is all story development.

I am so glad this was loved by the audience, and I am also very glad that Uchino Seiyo and Nishijima enjoyed working on this drama :)

The OP sequence is very, very cute, and the song was lovely.

A_Story_To_Read_On_The_Day_Youve_Fell_In_Love-p1

It's been a long time since I've been this giddy with happiness watching a drama. A fresh (pink) air of breath XD Each episode was better than the previous one. And every time I finished an episode, I couldn't wait for the next week, so much I rewatched the last episode and couldn't think of nothing else XD

As the J-netizens said, I would like to think Yuri was the heroine of this drama. I loved how supportive was everyone of him. There isn't a single bad character here. And all 3 rivals were nice, handsome guys who wanted nothing more than Junko's happiness. Each one of the guys had their amount of support from the netizens, I am not sure who was the most popular. But since episode 1 I had my favorite, and that is because I am a huge fan of manga-Shinkumi <3 The chemistry between Yokohama Ryusei and Fukada Kyoko was AMAZING. I think she had a tiny crush on him, they were so cure together! I wouldn't say they have a 14-year-gap at all. Maybe 8 or 10 top.

Yuri-Yuri was a delight to watch; he has a lot of character development. The actor is not only super handsome but such a nice actor as well. Every time he smiled, I was happy. His tears were also so beautiful... His hands... his teeth... awwww handsome XD

I loved how he looked betrayed in this scene.. I watched it multiple times!

His beautiful smile brightened my day ^_^

His gorgeous hands! He knew how to use them ^_^

I have yet to watch the final episode subbed, but just watching it raw I loved it (I covered my eyes but peeked between my fingers in the last scene). I'll write a proper review (with a proper rant over this actor I fell head over heels) when I finish the subbed last episode.

Favorite scenes, in no particular order:
- The "heroine in a dating game" (but the whole study camp made me happy)
- The "betrayed" look in front of Junko's house
- All the hugs (kyaa they were all amazing, the most romantic I've even seen)
- every time my favorite smiled
- Nishioi and Miwa were funny, but together they were hilarious

Favorite drama of the year? XD too early to tell but I loved it so much I am having drama withdrawal symptoms ^_^ And listening to the OST ("Happy birthday" by back number) isn't helping ^_^

Naoko Yamada (Yukie Nakama), a female magician, and Jiro Ueda (Hiroshi Abe), a genius physicist, are back again to solve the mystery of supernatural happenings.

In a village where people are cured, a battle royale is held to find the successor for shamen Kamahaeri. Naoko attempts to gain big money by participating in the battle royale, while Jiro is invited to the village to stop this custom. Naoko and Ueda then challenges this amazing trick . (asiawiki-2010)

Trick-The_Movie_3

My favorite duo in the whole Dramaland. The times I laughed in this movie XD it was an excellent movie. The mystery was good, the chemistry was good, the cast was good, the jokes were back.

Recurring jokes I'll never get tired of watching:

- flat-chested Yamada and big-penis Ueda
- Yabe and his wig
- Ueda and his big ego (including all his books, doll and his claims of knowing all)
- Ueda and martial arts
- Ueda proposing that each one of them, both he and Yamada, tell the other something meaningful when their lives are threatened.
- Ueda calling "mother" to Yamada's mother
- Yamada and her magic tricks
- Yamada and her rent debts
- Ueda and Yamada together <3 my favorite

Waaa I love them. They are extremely funny (Abe Hiroshi is gold in comedy and he has -had- the best chemistry with Nakama Yukie) and the support characters were likeable. A MUST for Trick's fans. I think this movie can be seen as a stand-alone but I'll always recommend to watch Season 1 first, just because it is one of the best dramas I've ever seen.

Akiko Iwaki (Haruka Ayase) is a career woman who works very hard at her job. She gets married to Ryoichi Miyamoto (Yutaka Takenouchi) who has a daughter. Akiko Iwaki must now deal with housework and raising her stepdaughter. (asiawiki-2018)

Stepmother_and_Daughters_Blues-p001

The drama with the highest rating of the season. And it deserved it. Not only because Ayase Haruka is and will be forever Japan's favorite girl, but because this was funny and sweet and with zero drama and a real representative of a Japanese Slice of Life Drama.

The story is divided in two parts, so it was like Season 1 and Season 2 together. From ep01 to ep05 is one timeline, and from ep06 to 10 is another, 9 years later (that was a total surprise for me!). I adored "Season 1" and it was my favorite. Akiko-san trying, first, to be accepted as a stepmom to Miyuki, and then, her first duties as a mother. I love the little girl who played Miyuki (Yokomizo Naho), awesome actress! She behaved like a little girl behaves, not like a smart-ass girl who talks like an adult. My favorite episodes were 2 and 3: ep2 because I loved the little "game" Akiko-san and Miyuki played at the supermarket, and ep3, because of the "battle" of Akiko against the Parents Association.

Ep 06 was a total shock to me because of the time-slip and because of... well, change of actors. Still, the actress who played older Miyuki was really good and likeable (Hiroki-kun too. Both boy and older boy are so cute!), and some of her expressions resembled her younger-self (both girls have big eyes). I liked how Akiko-san starts working again; her role in the bakery was amazing, totally plausible. I love how everything she does, it is because she is thinking in her daughter. And everything Miyuki does, she always has her stepmom in mind. They may not be blood-related, but their love fo each other was real.

If there has to be a minus it would be that Akiko-san looks the same after the time-slip. Same as Shimoyama-san (even the highlights in her hair...)

In spite of the many comedic scenes, there were also some touching scenes :( I am still not sure of the ending, only because I did not fully understand it. I know that it was a "miracle" too, but why? What does the train ticket mean??

All actors were excellent, except for Takeru Sato. I think goofy roles don't suit him. I noticed that some "cool" actors, like him, do wonderfully in action and cool roles, but when it comes to goofy roles... nah. And too bad he had to go and fall in love. I mean, it provided many funny scenes XD but Akiko-san and Ryuchi forever <3 And I was disappointed since I truly thought he was going to be some kind of angel, the one who was going to bring a miracle into Akiko-san's and Miyuki's lives. I guess he sort of did, but not the way I wanted. And at the end, it was really Akiko who was a miracle to him.

The little touches, like the miracles (I thought it was going to have a bigger role, like **coughcoughthefathercoughcough**), and minor characters, like Taguchi-kun, were very nice. I actually laughed out loud several times with Taguchi-kun, he was a silly sweetheart :)

The OST was excellent, I want it. And the funny one made the scene even funnier XD I did not pay attention to the ED song tbh.

So overall, first part is a 10 and second part is a 9 for me.

amachan

To say that I loved Amachan would be an understatement. I think it is one of the cutest, most heartwarming, most charming and most uplifting dramas I've ever watched. The heroine, Amano Aki, is perfectly portrayed by Nounen Rena. I loved her and could understand why she was so much loved by everyone (in the drama and in RL). I am not sure if it was an awesome way to start watching Asadoras, because this one was top-notch, but I also fear that no one will come close to Amachan. The cast, the cute little intro song, the setting.. everything.

This drama is about loving your family, friends and little town. Aki's family was always there for her, not only her family by blood, but all the people in Kitasanriku. Aki's friendship with Yui-chan made me teary-eyed many times, and I loved the relationship between Suzuka-san and Haruko. Truly, Kudo Kankuro is a genius when it comes to female characters and female relationship. I don't see the Idol world as negative as I used to... these lovely girls just wanted to make people happy. I was so happy seeing the director so proud of his cast/drama in the extra episode; he really loved "Amachan"!

The lenght also kinda scared me at first... but when I was around Ep. 50 I was like, "I wish this was longer". I kept watching it anywhere where I had a little time off... on the bus, waiting my meals, etc. It is perfect to upload a couple of episodes on the cellphone.

I am currently suffering withdrawal symptoms... I loved it!

Dako (Masami Nagasawa) is a con woman. She stays at a suite in a luxury hotel and schemes to take money from vicious wealthy people like yakuza bosses and evil businessmen. She works with Boku-chan (Masahiro Higashide) and Richard (Fumiyo Kohinata). Boku-chan is a sincere and timid young con man. Richard is a veteran con man.

Dako is able to master knowledge from various professions in a short period of time and disguises herself as someone working in that field. Along with Boku-chan and Richard, they carry their plans using fantastic teamwork. (asiawiki-2018)

Confidence_Man_JP-TP

I've probably watched around 5 dramas this Spring Season and, no doubt, this was the best. Anyone could watch it, and I bet anyone will have fun in at least half of all episodes. At least, I had fun with all of them. This is about a trio of conmen (ok, 2 men and 1 woman). Dako is the brain of the group, and the most mischievous one. I am not really a fan of Nagasawa Masami, but I think this kind of role fits her perfectly. And she had fun doing it, in my eyes, so that is always a plus for me. Then there is Boku-chan, the kind-hearted and most naive young man, interpreted by Higashide Masahiro. I've seen him in VS Arashi and I think he may be a bit of Boku-chan in real life, so he was perfect. Always falling for the person in need, and almost always playing unwillingly Dako's games. Last is Richard, the veteran, played by Kohinata Fumiyo. He is always good, in whatever role he plays, since he is always so calm.

This is an episodic drama, and almost all episodes were unpredictable. Like 90% of them. The last one was amazing. There is nothing Dako can't prevent nor can't do. These trio of con may make a lot of money, but to make money, they also spend tons. So most of the times it was very over-the-top, but that is why this drama was so much fun to watch. It was a witty drama, with lots of sense of humor.

I know it is almost impossible, but I wish this one has a 2nd Season. Or at least a movie. I feel like I didn't have enough time with Dako's, Boku's and Richard's adventures.

**My rating: 9/10**

Great sequel, and cannot wait for the movie. Almost 2 hours long that felt much shorter. Each one of the trio is in charge of one swindle, separately. And that's because of a big disagreement they have at the start of the SP, that make them "disband". I love everytime Boku-chan announces he will not come back, but this time Richard also says the same thing.

All 3 swindles were fun to watch, but of course Dako is the one handling the bigger fish. But is she, the luckiest girl, running out of luck?

Besides the trio, their sidekicks are back, plus one new addition, a young girl named Monaco (at first I wasn't sure if she had been before in the drama? But no, she is new).

The ending was good! A preview of a possible Chinese victim (this drama surely loves Chinese; either they are pretending they are Chinese or they are swindling Chinese people :D)
**My rating: 8.5/10**
