Like many others, I love this anime: the animation, the music, the characters, the story. Once we know Victor's true story, of why he became Yuuri's coach, I re-watched the whole 10 episodes again. Then came Episode 11 and I was a bit disappointed. And the Final Episode left me even more disappointed...

I get why Yurio had to win. I get his motivation (to make Yuuri stay). I get why Victor has to come back as a skater. But not because I get all that I have to accept it. I do find Yurio a interesting character, but he was far from being my favorite. Generally speaking, I don't like tsunderes. And I HATE that he won first place. Yuuri should have won the gold! He could have won the gold and still decided at the end that he wanted to come back. That he still wanted to compete agains Victor (and in the process, making Victor wish to come back to skate against Yuuri). Yuuri had all the motivation to win, and he didn't. At the end, Yurio was better than him... why!

And the due skating at the end... what was it? I loved it, but I would have loved it more if it was real. As it was (I need to rewatch it to be sure) it was like a dream. A goal. Yes, we audience finally get what we wanted, but I wanted it to be REAL, not just an imagination.

I am pretty disappointed with the final 2 episodes... I am happy it gets a 2nd season, but still...

Yesterday, the first time I've read the news, I was like "wait, what? are you kidding me? Junno wouldn't do that". Turned out, it was true. I was devastated. Why is this kind of thing keep happening to KAT-TUN? Was all Johnny's fault for forming a group were all the members -almost all the members- hated each other? Today, when I woke up, I was hoping it was all a bad dream. Just my luck, it wasn't. And not only I am still sad, but I am also mad as hell.

Yes, I am mad at Junno. I don't think I will ever hate him -he is just too kind, down to earth, and cute to be hated- but at this point, I am very disappointed at him. To do that just 2 years after the Koki Incident happened! Makes me wonder a lot of things. 1) if he truly loves his fans (NO, HE DOESN'T!). His decision to make this move is very selfish. Not only we fans had to go through TWO members leaving, in shady circumstances, but we have to see the members left apologizing every time they go to a TV show (since Kame and Maru are the members that are more on TV, they are the one that have to endure it... not only when Koki left, but also now that Junno is leaving). If they, for some miraculous reason, are not disbanding, we will have to hear and see -AGAIN- the members left trying to assure fans that they are OK, better than ever, still together, going strong, etc. Happened when Jin left, happened when Koki left. How on Earth are we fans going to believe that? As much as KAT-TUN want to please their fans, they can't. Not at this point. And again they will have to go through jokes and teasing (the kind that Nakai makes, Voice of Heaven makes)? And again they will have to answer painful question in TV shows (like Kame did in Arashi ni Shiyagare, or whenever they talk in SCP)? Did Junno think about this beforehand? Maybe, but he did it anyway.

2) When KAT-TUN was a guest in Utaban the day after their debut, they were asked if they saw themselves in that group in 10 years. Only 4 of them answered yes. When Koki was fired, I thought that him and Jin were the ones that did not see themselves in KAT-TUN in 10 years. Now I see that maybe I was wrong. No doubt one of them was Jin, but makes me wonder now if the 2nd one was Junno? Because his reason for leaving KAT-TUN was that he was turning 30, blah blah, blah. So he did not see himself as an Idol at 30, was that his thinking 10 years ago as well? And I have always felt that the members that loved KAT-TUN the most were Maru, Kame and Koki. True, Koki was not very professional when he did what he did, but he loved KAT-TUN. Did Junno? I don't think so. You can see how much an Idol loves his group in all he gives up, in all painful things he goes thru and no matter what, still keeps going. I have several examples, but I won't point them out since I will need to mention other Johnny groups, and I don't want to compare. Specially because the other groups are always going strong, without a problem fans know of (doesn't matter if they have issues behind doors), and I always envy these groups, while we fans of KAT-TUN have to suffer so much.

I will support KAT-TUN no matter what, whatever they decide. Only that at this point, and maybe because things are still fresh, I prefer they disband instead of still suffering. No, I am kidding, I don't want them to. I will cry -again- if it happens.

Maybe not. The three of them deserve better, but what will happen to Ueda? I can see him quitting in a couple of years anyway (sorry Ueda, but looks like you love boxing more thatn you do KAT-TUN!) And then what? would it be "Kame and Maru"? Argh, I just can't anymore :(

... KAT-TUN became 4-nin :( A year ago I hated JE and Koki; today I blame Koki entirely. Why did he have to break rules constantly? Either he thought he was untouchable or he just did not care for KAT-TUN anymore. And I think is the latter. Maybe he was tired of all the regulations. In that aspect, he would be so similar to Akanishi **spits over the shoulder**. JE is not a jail. Some fans hate JE's rules, but every company has them, right?? They are not prisoners; they can leave if they want to (hello, look at Mori, for example)

Koki's words about the hyphen used to feel nice and honest; today I don't know. i want to think he meant it, but maybe he didn't. If the other members tried talking to him to change his behavior and he did not care... I still miss him, though.

First time KAT-TUN was guest in Utaban they were asked if they see themselves in the band 10 years from then. 4 of them answered YES, I honestly hope they were Akanishi **spits over the shoulder** and Koki. It is easy now to imagine it. Please let the others still be together in their 10th anniversary!

My worst nightmare... I feel like crying all the time. depressed1-onion-head-emoticon[1]

My hard-drive is not working. My computer does not recognize it. I purchased this 1T hard drive specially for my Japanese files. I have around 400GB of videos. Years of seaching, downloading... All my doramas... my movies... variety shows of all my favorite JE bands... my concerts... WAAAAA

This cannot be happening... I am really, really depressed dying-onion-head-emoticon[1]
sunako_yue: (Default)
I love JE bands (most of them). My ichiban will always be KAT-TUN, but there are others I love very much. I only know all KAT-TUN songs, and about one or 2 of the other bands. However, I love to watch their shows, old and new. I have placed an asterisk next to some members, which I explain below what it means.

Here are my thoughts about them:

KAT-TUN

Since the very fist clip I watched (I think it was the skit about the school trip, when they were chibis) I fell in love with this group. Cartoon will always remain as my favorite Japanese variety show. I was depressed when they become 5-nin, and just when I was getting kind of used to it, they become 4-nin. But no matter what, I feel they are better now (more serious, more mature) and I like that Ueda and Junno are not in the background anymore (and that no one is cruel to Junno anymore! Cuz Koki and Akanishi were, IMO).
Favorite member: Kame, which kind of pain me to say cuz I love all 4 of them dearly! But he was the one that introduced me to this wonderful world of Johnnys. I love "Kame-baseball", how passionate he is about this sport, how hard he tries in Going! or anything he wants to achieve. I also love that he is respectful to his job and the company he works for. And that everything he does is thinking in his fans and in KAT-TUN. And his laugh!
Ikemen member: Kame may be the prettiest but Junno is the most handsome. Specially recently, with this black hair **swoon**
Least favorite member: Kame. Although I love him with all my heart, I am not blind. I dislike him when he acts like an "Idol" (i.e. in concerts or live performances). Look at the other members. They don't make "sexy"poses and I have never seen Junno without a shirt on, and that doesn't make him "less idol" or less sexy. And I also dislike when KAT-TUN are guests in any show and Kame does not let the other talk. So I understand why there are people who does not like him. Understand it, but not accept it.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Junno. I think he is the "least" Japanese, meaning he is the least rigid one. He would be more easygoing (Ueda is too shy), and I would not need to behave more feminine (like I think Maru and Kame want in a girl).
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: almost all Kame starred in: Gokusen 2, Nobuta wo produce, Yuuki, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, One Pound Gospel, YNSH, YNB, Ore Ore; RESCUE; Legal High.
Ex-members: Akanishi* (I like before-USA Jin; I despise after-USA Jin); Koki (I miss his rap and his yakuza looks, but I hate that he did not care for KAT-TUN)

SMAP:

I love Bistro so much. They are the biggest Johnnys idols but they are so talented. I mean, to cook for their guests? WOW, that first time I watched a Bistro I was amazed; I don't know any other idol who does that. And all their Batsu games (and Gakuen Idol) are hilarious. Not any idol will do it. I admire them a lot.
Favorite member: Nakai. He is so funny. Shingo said once that Nakai won't talk unless he has a camera in front of him. I can imagine that easily. He lives for the audience, and he is so sharp and hilarious in everything he says. He is an awesome MC. Besides, he loves SMAP, he is so proud to be part of this band (that he cries with the song Best Friend is just touching). And UTABAN was one of my favorite shows.
Ikemen member: Kimura. No surprise there.
Least favorite member: there isn't. I love them all!
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Shingo. He is also the most easygoing and very funny.
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: Mr. Brain, Ataru, HERO.

TOKIO:

Too bad there are not enough fandoms about this group. I would love to watch DASH and Takeru. However, the few episodes I watched of Takeru were great.
Favorite member: I like all of them, but I need to watch more of their shows to be more familiar with them.
Ikemen member: Nagase, hands down.
Least favorite member: Mabo maybe. Because he looks intimidating.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Taichi (who looks like Minho, BTW, the Korean pop-star). Because he is a great MC, I think he would be easy to talk to.
Doramas I watched starring one of the members: My boss, my hero.

V6:

Like TOKIO, I am not very familiar with them. I have never watched any of their shows or movies. Not that I am not interested, but because I have never had the chance. However, I did watch their visits to UTABAN, and I enjoyed all of them (Poor Leader Sakamoto, being so teased :D)
Favorite member: maybe Ken, not only because of his boy-ish looks, but because he learnt how to talk thru signs XD
Ikemen member: Okada, although I don't find him THAT handsome as he is considered.
Least favorite member: Morita. I don't have any particular reason.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Innochi.
Doramas I watched starring one of the members: none yet O_O

KINKI KIDS:

Thank you Koichi, for KAT-TUN! I love to watch their show SDK. Their old episodes are more fun to watch, but the current ones are good as well. I can't believe it is going to be over :(
Favorite member: Tsuyoshi. He is funny and always says something witty.
Ikemen member: Tsuyoshi. I like his chubby cheeks <3
Least favorite member: by default is Koichi, but I like that he is so interested in science and that he is kind of awkward. Besides, he is one of the most admired sempai.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Koichi. He seems more my type, that does not like to go out much and prefers to stay at home.
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: none yet O_O

ARASHI:

Himitsu no Arashi-chan was one of my favorite shows, too bad it ended :( But it seems Arashi ni Shiyagare is having the same format, and I love the things they have to do with the female guest of with the male guest. My least favorite show is VSA but I can't help it and I always end up downloading it when there is a sub.
Favorite member: Ohno. He doesn't need to say much to be memorable. And I think he is the most real; if he feels grumpy he will stay grumpy. Also, he is grateful to his company (what he said in the ANS episode with MatsuKen as guest is a proof) and he is not pretentious.
Ikemen member: MatsuJun I guess, although I think Sho is prettier.
Least favorite member: MatsuJun.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Ohno. We will not need to say much, and I will not mind spending time trying to fish. And I think I will be very comfortable with him just staying there, no need for conversation.
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: Gokusen; Letters from Iwo Jima; Gantz 1 and 2; HYD.

TACKEY & TSUBASA:

Unfortunately I have never found a T&t fandom. That I am aware of, they never had a variety show. But I watched the old Shounen Club episodes, and the only UTABAN episode I could find, and I thought they were super cute and very comfortable with each other.
Favorite member: Tackey. Only because he has been, and still is, a nice sempai to his kouhais!
Ikemen member: Tackey. He has the cutest smile.
Least favorite member: by default is Tsubasa, but only because I don't know him very well.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Tsubasa. I want to know him better and it seems he is quieter than Tackey, which suits my personality.
Doramas I watched starring one of the members: none yet O_O

NEWS:

I support this group the most after KAT-TUN, and that is because they also went thru a lot of things. From 9 members to 4! The 9th member I have not known, but too bad Kusano and Uchi left. But I think the 4 that remain are the best, and I am happy they celebrated their 10th aniversary. I enjoyed watching SOUKON, although the show did not focus so much in them, but at least it gave me an opportunity to know them better.
Favorite member: Massu. He has the cutest smile, and seems the nicest guy. I love that he looks exactly the same as 10 years ago, even his hairstyle.
Ikemen member: Tego, but when he doesn't have the blond-white hair.
Least favorite member: Tego, when he smiles that fake smile, or laughs with that fake laugh. There is an episode of Shounen Premium where Nagase talks about him, that Tego is a nice guy but uses his smile as poison (or something like that). Which is true. But fortunately he also laughs "for real", and it is impossible to dislike him; he is so sweet and hard-worker.
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: Koyama. There will never be an awkward moment because he will talk all the time XD
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, RESCUE. And Kurosagi.
Ex-members: Kusano (funny and naughty); Uchi (his punishment was too severe! He would have been my ikemen member); Ryo* (I don't like him), Yamapi* (I don't like him; I've never understood the hype about this guy. Sure he is nice-looking, but not THAT good-looking. And his personality is kind of bland).

KANJANI8:

Needless to say they are the funniest group in JE. Arashi is known like the group where the members are true friends in real life, but in my opinion, K8 are better friends, they look more comfortable with each other. Kanpani was one of the funniest show I've ever watched; it was like they were in someone's basement playing games.
Favorite member: Yoko. To me, he is like Nakai, one of the funniest Johnnys, that lives to be in front of the cameras. And I love how proud he is of Eito and to be part of it. And he has such a beautiful, mischievous smile that makes me smile back.
Ikemen member: There was a time where Ryo was the most handsome, but lately he is not looking very good. So right now is Tacchon.
Least favorite member: Ryo*
Member I would like to befriend/meet face to face: if I meet Hina on the street and ask him his autograph, I think he will be nice about it and will not have any problems.
Doramas/movies I watched starring one of the members: Eight Rangers; 1 Liter no Namida.
Ex-members: Uchi (my dear Uchi :( at least he is doing fine).

***********************

I am not interested in the Heisei groups, although I am mostly familiar with them, since I watched a lot of Shounen Club episodes (the first time I've seen Yabu or Yuto I was like O_O... they were so big! They were tiny cute boys and of all of the sudden -for me anyway- they were full-grown-up men). And it is weird to watch a KAT-TUN concert without Kiss-my-ft2 as the back-up dancers :(

Sometimes I imagine JE is a college and the Johnnys the students. Like in any college, there would be a group of nerds, of mischievous boys, etc. And a group of jocks. Jocks who think they are above everyone, or that like to hang out with their buddies, have a few drinks, date a lot of women. In summary, jocks who think they will always be teenagers and are liked by a lot of people. In my mind, these jocks are the guys who have an asterisk.

My conclusion: I need to watch more shows, doramas and movies XD

It is already September 4th in Japan, so I am able to wish my dear Maru a very happy birthday!

お誕生日おめでとうございます!

I hope that he has a wonderful rest of the year, and many more in the future! I found this lovely pic in a blogspot dedicated exclusively to him:
smile yucchi

If there should be a leader in KAT-TUN, it should be Maru. He loves his band, he is the best MC in the group, and everybody loves him! It is like he never has problems with anyone. And he is so proud of his beatbox <3 He is like an ojisan sometimes, but he is also so genuine <3 I love his beautiful, long hands, his fear of heights (among other things). He is 31 now O_O but he looks like 25! He never changed in all these years.

I <3 Maru cheer3-onion-head-emoticon[1]

The day I was waiting has arrived. Akanishi is no longer a Johnny.

When Koki was kicked out of JE, one of the things that made me angry the most has been that he was kicked out before Akanishi. It was very unfair, considering Akanishi's scandals vs. Koki's scandals. Besides, Akanishi has not been doing well in the entertainment business, unlike Koki, whose rap is essential for KAT-TUN's songs (I still cannot listen to Real Face without shedding some tears).

I've read that some fans are happy because JE is strict with their rules, and Akanishi can finally be free. That JE has not supported his career like he deserves. I disagree in both aspects.

First, every company has it rules to follow. I agree that some JE rules are stupid. But if he has a contract with the company, he has to follow them. Even Koki admitted that. Considering than Japan is so strict with anything, these rules are almost understandable. We have to understand that "scandals" for them are a joke for us (like Kusanagi's... huge scandal, but if any Hollywood star does it, it would not be so huge). And Akanishi was proud of not following their rules. Why not get out of the company then? He stated several times that he did not want to be like most idols (or something like that). Fine, don't be, but at least get out of the company before being so disrespectful, to the company and to their members.

Second, about JE not being supportive with his career. What else do they have to do? They let him leave the band to pursue his solo career, they supported with his concerts in USA... And I am sorry, but if we are talking about not being supportive, bands like K8 or NewS deserve more than this guy, and they get almost nothing.

So when I've read yesterday that on February 28th his contract with JE has ended, the first thought in my mind was "Finally, thank you".

Even if I do not stand this guy, I do feel sad. Mainly because it is the 2nd ex-KAT-TUN member in a few months to leave the jimusho. Again KAT-TUN will have to endure questions about the issue in interviews. Again about the same guy. And to think that once they were so popular, up there with Arashi and SMAP.

I wonder what the other Johnnys think about this, especially those who spent so much time with KAT-TUN, like K8 and NewS, and T&T and Kinki Kids....

Who is she? Well, she is the mangaka of one of my favorite mangas, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. Where and what I would be without this manga, I shiver to think of. This manga is silly most of the times, but as funny as hell. It has several amazing character, but my favorite one will always be Nakahara Sunako.

She is a very original character, if we talk about shojos, where most of the times the girl is "nice, cute, energetic, optimistic", blah, blah, blah. Sunako is, in contrast to these girls, dark, kind of crazy, weird, introvert. I enjoy reading every single volumen of the manga. Then, I started watching the anime, and I loved it! Sunako's voice suits her perfectly. I love this seiyu, she is Nakahara Sunako. And while I was getting a bit tired of Sunako-chibi all the time in the manga, the anime made me realize that her chibi is the best and certainly, adorable.
Isn't she the cutest chibi?

Then I found out there was a dorama. I was skeptical to watch it. Why? Because I have never watched a Japanese TV series in my life. The only TV shows I watched were, or Latins, or from USA or British. And when I looked at the poster, I was convinced I would not like it.

Everything was wrong, I thought the first time I looked at this picture. Kyohei is not blond. Takenaga is not black-haired. There was a boy! Who the hell was that little boy? And all the bishies did not look handsome to me. But then I read the comments of people who watched it, and all of them were positives, I decided to watch it.

And I am soooo glad I did. I loved the dorama. I laughed a lot, I even liked the little boy. All actors were amazing. Sometimes it bothered me that Sunako was such a secondary character, but that was my only complain. I fell in love with the 4 boys, who were, after all, bishounen. It took me a couple of episodes to realize that. I was captivated by Kyohei's perfect eyebrows. Then I was captivated by Kyohei's perfect lips. And perfect smile.

Once I finished watching the dorama, I started to read about these boys. I found out 3 of them were from the same agency, Johnny's Entertainment. But because I was over heels for Kyohei, Kamenashi Kazuya, I started to watch several videos in Youtube and came to know the TV show of his band, KAT-TUN.

The rest is history. From KAT-TUN, to News and Kanjani8 (because of Tego and Uchi), and then Arashi and SMAP. I love these boys. So thank you, Tomoko Hayakawa, because if it wasn't for your wonderful manga, I would not have known the existence of the Johnnys.
