Despite her cheerful smile and kind, good-natured personality, she is reticent about her family and past. Hasuda Rintaro, the second son of a wealthy family, is feared by the people around him as he comes across as someone who is hard to approach. But beneath that armor is a young man with a pure heart and no airs. When he returns to Japan because of his father's poor health, he is put in charge of a marine development project. While Mio wants to protect the ocean and opposes the resort’s development, Rintaro is staking his life on it. These two people who seem as if they live in different worlds, meet each other over the project and eventually fall in love. However, theirs is a forbidden romance because Mio has a secret that will shock everyone. (MDL-2021)
Easily one of my most disliked dramas of 2021. I already hated in ep01 and I had no hope for it, but of course I would watch the crappiest drama for Ayano Go, a "rom-com" nonetheless! More rom than com actually... I don't think there was any com?? Unless you find the terrible script funny. For me it was more, rom-pain...
First of all, the script. Full of cliches, the bad kind, the kind that is stuck in the early 2000, not the funny kind. Wrist-grabbing, faints, misunderstandings, etc, etc. How awful! Nothing was good, not even the environment issue was good because Ishihara Satomi's character didn't sound passionate, but more like, whinny.
Second, characterization... there wasn't ONE character that was lovely. And all of them were forgetable. And the one that seemed the bad guy of course wasn't and redeems himself at the end :(
Last, the styling. Ayano Go is supposed to be a rich guy but looks like a shady guy from the yakuza, wearing oversized suits and awful sunglasses. Satomi... why in the world would they dress her like an old nun?? And both of them with the most awful hairdoes, and terrible brownish hair. TERRIBLE!
Ayano Go, however, was good with the little they gave him :( Satomi, on the other hand... why did she portray her character to look so weak and weepy! Talking like a child and weeping all the time.. terrible. At least ehy had chemistry and their last kiss in the beach was wow. Good one Ayano Go! I don't think I've ever seen him kiss (to a female character) like this before?
