The Mobile Investigative Unit (known as "MIU") of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department attempts to solve cases within 24 hours.

Detective Kazumi Shima (Gen Hoshino) is selected as a new member of MIU. He is intelligent, with excellent observation and communication skills. Yet, he does not trust other people. He is unable to find a partner in MIU and is ordered to partner with Police Officer Ai Ibuki (Gou Ayano), who works at a police substation. Ai Ibuki applied for MIU, but he failed. He is in excellent physical condition, but he lacks knowledge and experience as a detective. Kazumi Shima learns about Ai Ibuki's background and he becomes more nervous. Finally, Kazumi Shima has his first meeting with Ai Ibuki. (asianwiki-2020)

MIU_404-P1

One of my most anticipated dorama of this Season. Nope, of the Year maybe.

Reasons to love MIU:

- Starring Ayano Go and Hoshino Gen. When I've read the news I was so happy, my sweet duo from "Kounodori". As partners again, with different personalities! A bit like the movie "Lethal Weapon", not quite, but almost.
- ED song by Yonezu Kenshi. If this guy is providing the song, then the drama is an automatic success.
- Written by Nogi Akiko: true, I wasn't a fan of Unnatural, but I did love Nigehaji and Juhan Shuttai and Soratobu Kouhoushitsu.
- Small role for Suda Masaki: it is not that I am his biggest fan, but he certainly can chose his roles, and if he agreed to have a small part in this drama, then it meant it was a good script.
- Other cast: the 3 lovable old men that are everywhere, and were also in Juhan Shuttai. They do not have any scene together in this drama, though. But watching them in the same drama, to me, is a big plus.

Reasons why I didn't love it:

- the acting: I don't know why, but I didn't like Gen's and Go's acting so much. Gen's was so stiff and Go's was too dorky! They didn't act natural at all, it was all a role for them.
- the script: not only because of their dialogues, but also the story. I liked ep.4, 8, 9, and that's it. The other episodes were ridiculous, and the last one was exasperating... the villain always a step forward while the police was doing stupid decisions (Jimba got hurt in the most ridiculous way!)
- the last episode: what the hell was that all about? the "possible" future + the "real" one? And the villain being smarted than both Ibuki and Shima... these 2 get caught like their are newbies **facepalm**
- Ayano Go is so thin nowadays :( I hope it is for a role, because it doesn't suit him at all.

Still, I am glad it had good ratings and that people kept tweeting about this weeks after it finished. While it wasn't a success with me, I am happy it was in general.

**My rating: 7/10**
