sunako_yueMio Meguro (Fuka Koshiba) is a timid person. She is afraid of being hated by others and this causes her to refrain from saying what she really wants to say. She doesn't have any specific things she wants to do. She got a job and eventually dated a man from her workplace work. Mio Meguro wanted to marry the man, but he turns out to be a bad guy. Because of him, she becomes penniless and unemployed. Her life descends into a bottomless pit. Mio Meguro then happens to get a sharehouse, where the mysterious creatures known as yokai live. The yokai try to solve her problems in radical ways. (asianwiki-2020)
I love stories where a lonely character meets people who care for him/her, and this is what happens in this dorama. Koshiba Fuka as Mio was adorable; she may be a little pathetic, but I can see why the youkai feel sorry for her first, and then care for her like their adopter daughter/sister.
Every episode introduces a youkai, sometimes one of the sharehouse, sometimes an outsider, so for anyone who likes Japanese culture this is recommended. The little drawings was a nice touch. And all youkais were lovely, not scary at all.
To be honest, I was disappointed with the ending. I wanted Mio to end with Yuzu or if not, to stay with the youkais, and none of that happens. I get why it ends like it does (she has a character growth, she needed to be independent, free, etc) but for the youkai, it seemed like a sad ending. And I really liked Yuzu, he cared for her and would protect her always. I didn't like her boss at all (maybe because I can't see Daito Shunsuke as a hero anymore, after reading his messy life), and besides, Yuzu (Mikata Ryosuke) was in Kuromyu as Ronald Knox!
