Too Young to Die!
Mar. 30th, 2018 09:27 amHigh school student Daisuke (Ryunosuke Kamiki) has a crush on classmate Hiromi. On the way to a school trip, the bus with Daisuke has an accident. When Daisuke wakes up, he finds himself in Hell. He asks himself "Why only me? I'm too you young to die and I've never experienced a kiss." Then, Killer K (Tomoya Nagase) appears in front of the confused Daisuke. Killer K leads the rock band Heruzu from Hell Agricultural High School. To return to the living and confess his feelings to Hiromi, Daisuke's hell rounds begin under Killer K's special training. (asiawiki-2016)

I wasn't planning on watching this, but when I've read that the director AND writer was Kudo Kankuro, I just had to. And I know he is not perfect, and that he will write/direct movies and dramas that won't be my favorites nor I will like, but I was disappointed about half through of this movie. It was crass (but not in the funny way), it was all over the place, and it was so random. I kept wondering how would it be to watch this movie on drugs. A crazy experience, no doubt.
I didn't like the songs (I don't like Nagase's singing voice) and I think Kiritani Kenta was totally misplaced... maybe he did this for fun, since his character could have been anyone (or maybe he really knows how to play drums).
What I liked was that, after having watched several works of KK, I see which actors worked with him previously (Nagasa, Kamiki, Kenta), and who may be his favorites (Morikawa Aoi, Sakai Maki).
A ridiculous movie, and I think I may have smiled one (I didn't laugh even once).
**My rating: 3.5/10**
