10 years after Kenji Sakuragi (Hiroshi Abe) left Ryuzan High School, the school is in a downturn. Ryuzan High School once produced many students that were admitted into the University of Tokyo, but not so anymore. To get the school out of its downturn, Kenji Sakuragi is sent an offer to return to Ryuzan High School. (asianwiki-2021)

Japan surely loves this kind of drama, the different kind of teacher + his unruly students. With character development of course. As much as I love Abe Hiroshi, this wasn't for me. But I can see they can make more sequels.
First of all, it was too "lecturing" for me. For students, this will be good, a great model and with tips here and there. It was almost like watching a show that teaches students how to study. Since I am no longer a student for the last XX years, it was pretty boring.
Second, it obviously relaid too much on the sentimental part. Gosh the last episode made me roll my eyes so hard. The tears! The coming of the old students! (but it was nice to see them all again, thank G we did not have to see Robopi though). All of them happy and learning their lessons! Bleh.
Third, the "redemption" of the villains/bad guys. This father was abusive, all forgiven because he "approved" his daughter to go to college. TWICE. Right, not only the parents of ONE of the girls was abusive, but of TWO girls. They even got PHYSICAL abusive (slaps so hard in the face, they were all red next day). Another bully who treated them all bad was all forgiven at the end because he stood up for one of them. Right, that Fuji was an a**hole but he was forgiven **eyerolling** The "friend" and coach from Kaede were super a**holes and ruined her life but fine, they were forgiven easily **eyerolling**.
What is better than the first season, however, are the actors. Much better than the old ones. The Kinpuri kid was muuch better than Robopi, and that is saying something. Even their motivation and stories were better than Season 1.
I thought it would have been better because it was filmed like it was a Hanzawa Naoki or a Rikuoh. Certainly some of the same actors are also here. And some of them are a**holes but well.
My rating: **6/10**
