sunako_yueWakaba (Tao Tsuchiya) is a 2nd grade high school student in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. When Wakaba was little, she admired the cheerleading club "JETS” from Fukui Chuo High School in Fukui Prefecture. She dreamed of joining the "JETS,” but she thought it was impossible for her to join and enrolled at another high school. One day, a transfer student from Tokyo talks to Wakaba and proposes "let's do cheer dance together." (asiawiki-2018)
With the first episode, I may have paid attention around 40% of it. It wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be. But I gave it a chance and I think ep2 to 4 were a bit better. The girls were nice and mostly, TBS production is excellent.
Unfortunately, the script sucked. It was ridiculous and corny. All the little dramas: Wakaba, the energetic and sweet girl who gives up her spot for someone else happiness (hmph, so pathetic); the teacher and his accident (wtf that motorcycle driver... he was going straight for the kid and the teacher makes the most ridiculous scene while saving the kid); the girls all crying for the teacher (they didn't have enough time to bond with him, why would they cry so hard like he was dying?); the dancer girl giving up on her dream in order to not be a bother for the girls (how the hell the guys knew her name and how to contact the school? why in the world would they do that if they were harassing the girl? did they honestly thought that suing Shiori their acts wouldn't be told??); Wakaba getting that ankle pain (and at the same time, being a pain in the ass trying to be so supportive and whatever).
So tons of dramatic episodes and a friendship that I've never believed. Such a waste of Odagiri Joe! Why in the world did he accept this role? His part was pathetic and very forgettable. The girls didn't look young enough to be high school girls.. they look old enough to be college students. Is Tao-chan playing the high-schooler forever?? Even her (boy)friend YamaKen is not doing student boy anymore... they are around 23-years-old, for Gods Sake.
Too bad it sucked. I know that TBS will have its ups and downs but I was expecting more :((
