I've read a couple of reviews saying this dorama was hilarious, that 1st episode was to laugh and laugh. Well, after finishing Ep. 1 I honestly thought "what a ridiculous drama. Should I continue?". And yes, I continued, because in spite of being ridiculous, not having laughed once in the entire hour, it wasn't such a bad drama to drop it.
My main reason to watch this was Chiba Yuudai, to watch this almost-thirty sweet guy in another role that wasn't a student. He didn't disappoint me, his role, along with Imoto's, were the best. These 2, separate and together, made me laugh. He, the Prince, with an angelical face and smile, is actually ruthless and selfish. She, a silly, lazy woman in love with the Prince. These 2 were the highlights of the drama.
On the other hand, I can't believe Kitagawa Keiko won several awards (or was it one?) for this drama. Or she didn't understand her character, or the scriptwriter was terrible. Why was she so robotic? It was like she wasn't human. Bad acting. And, although her "Go!" was funny, all the times that she go "There isn't a house I can't sell" was tedious and repetitive.
I realized I am not a fan of episodic dramas. Only IF the characters are engaging, but here they weren't. I didn't sympathize with her, I didn't care about her suitor(s), I didn't care about their stories. And some episodes were nice, but in others my phone was more interesting :(
There were a couple of guest that were terrible at acting, like the foreign guy and his chubby girlfriend. I guess it is hard to find foreign people that can speak Japanese, but that guy was sooo awful at acting! Cringe-worthy.
The ending was ridiculous. The ending song was MEH. Not worth it.
**My rating: 5/10**
