May. 14th, 2015 12:57 pmPlot
Yoshitaro Katayama (Masaki Aiba) is a detective at the #1 investigation team in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Yoshitaro became a detective because of his dying father's last wish. Yoshitaro's father was a top detective, but Yoshitaro now wants to quit his job because he becomes squeamish when he sees blood, is afraid of ghosts and not good dealing with women. He also shows signs of anemia. Yoshitaro then meets an extraordinary cat named Holmes, able to understand human words and possessing heightened deductive reasoning abilities. Yoshitaro and Holmes then partner to solve difficult to crack cases ... (Asianwiki)

Funny fact: I have always thought Okura and Aiba look very similar, and I used to call them brothers when I started being a fan of Johnnys. Since we watched Hotaru no Hikari, my sister thinks that Aiba and Fujiki Naohito look very similar. And then, voila! there is a dorama where both play as brothers, and Okura is also there, a sidekick, but very brotherly. The 3 of them have many scenes together, and that was a big plus.
The highlight:
-Buchou Fujiki Naohito, a.k.a., Hiro-nii. He is the oldest of the 3 siblings, and he is supposed to be a frustrated writer, but he is actually the real Detective in the family. What can I say about this man... I love him. He is so handsome! And he looks great with glasses... no, scratch that... he looks AMAZING! And wearing sport clothes **swoons**. He worked with two Johnnys in this dorama, but he was the handsomest of all. Waaa, I could watch him in that attire for hours. He is so charismatic, truly.
The good:
- The siblings. Omasa Aya portrayed the youngest member of the family, and she was a kick-ass lady. To be honest, I love the chemistry between the siblings. Her attitude worked, her clothes worked, all of her worked in this show. And I want the same pair of fuchsia slippers she wears at home! They are gorgeous.
- The additional cast members: like Becky and Kichise Michiko and Jinnai Katanori.
- Okura, who was the comedy relief. Second time I watch him acting, and he was great! I loved every time he rolled his eyes and pretended to pick his nose. Hilarious.
- The OST. It was very "Sherlock". And although I don't like Arashi's song, I liked this one very much. It sounds different from all the other songs I listened to. "Your eyes". I am thinking in downloading it, and I don't have any Arashi's song!
The MEH:
- Aiba's character. Too nice, too naive, too useless. The typical character we find in shoujo manga. And he is supposed to be a detective, but he is useless. Well, not really in the last episodes. He improves. But he faints every time he sees blood (maybe the first time was funny; the 2nd it was to make you smile a little bit, but by the 3rd time, it was to roll eyes). And he is supposed to be afraid of women, but he tends to have a crush in all the main suspects. Who tend to be the culprit, but he could not accept it. Because of a pretty face. Hmm.
- Aiba's acting: it was not bad, but it was not good either. He needs to improve.
- The cases: entertaining, but not the kind where you are glued to the screen.
- Only 8 episodes are subtitled, so I had to watch the last 3 without subtitles :( Even if you do not understand Japanese (except maybe for little phrases like, What do yo mean?; I am glad, etc) it was kind of easy to follow up, but even so, I wanted to understand everything 100%.
