His - I Didn't Think I Would Fall In Love
Nagisa is 17 years old and attends 2nd grade in high school. He is apart from his parents and lives alone in the seaside town of Fujisawa in Kanagawa. He is passionate about surfing and works at a bathhouse in a hostel on the island Enoshima linked to Fujisawa. Shun is the same age as Nagisa and visits Fujisawa for spring break. They meet and develop a relationship more than friendship. However, the surfing equipment store owner’s daughter Chika has been secretly in love with Nagisa. (mdl-2019)

A very sweet BL drama, very innocent and in Nagisa's case, poignant. It is very, very short (5 episodes of 23minutes long), but it develops just like a movie would. Last weekend I watched "Love, Simon" and both gave me the same feelings: my heart breaks for these lonely boys who want nothing more than love and be loved by another boy, hiding their feelings to the world because "it is not normal". In Nagisa's case it is even sadder because he was rejected by his parents, his classmates and he had to move away. And he tried to date other girls "to be normal" but it didn't work.
Also pitiful for Chika and her friend for falling in love with 2 boys that have no interest in girls... but is it so different from boys who like girls but are not just interested in you? Thank God they are not assholes, and while being heartbroken, they try to help them a little bit.
The whole dorama is a coming-of-age, and those painful feelings (for Nagisa) and confusing feelings (for Shun) that they feel but hide from each other. The setting is pretty Enoshima, and the story is not dark nor cheesy nor dramatic. Just about 2 boys falling in love.
**My rating: 9/10**
As male high school students, Shun (Hio Miyazawa) and Nagisa (Kisetsu Fujiwara) first meet and fall in love with each other. Around the time when Shun is about to graduate from a university, Nagisa tells him that he can't see a future with him. They decide to break up. Years later, Shun lives alone in a rural area. Nagisa and his 6-year-old daughter Sora (Sakura Sotomura) appear in front of Shun. (asianwiki-2020)

**My rating: 4/10**
**General rating: 6.5**

While I loved the drama, I hated this movie. Talk about a disappointment in Nagisa! Who was such a melancholic boy, feeling so lonely till he meets Shun. So they start dating in college and one day, after spending a lovely time together, he goes and says "why don't we break up?", disappears for 7-8 years, hook ups with a girl, gets her pregnant, marries her but is unhappy, so sleeps with many guys till he realizes, wait, the only one who can make me happy is Shun. So he starts the divorce process but goes to court because he wants custody... and goes back to Shun who has been unhappy for 7-8 years but has to welcome him with open arms.
Huh?? I was rooting for this selfish asshole Nagisa?? Who not only made Shun's life miserable, but also his wife?? His daughter?? because he wanted to be "normal"??? Are you kidding meeeee....
While the movie wasn't bad, I hated this outcome and cannot forgive Nagisa at all. I wish Shun had met another guy, fall in love and forget about asshat Nagisa. He deserved better :(
